PTAC is now PTC. The Professional Theatre Awards Council has changed its name to the Professional Theatre Council of St. Louis. This change is not so much to deemphasize the Kevin Kline Awards, which are still the primary catalyst of PTC's mission to promote and celebrate excellence in St. Louis Professional Theatre, but rather to emphasize PTC's reinvigorated commitment to expanding its programming and services.
The most obvious example of new and improved service is this new website, developed in conjunction with Graphic Panacea and featuring content supplied by PTC's constituent theatres. This website will become a one-stop-shop for St. Louis theatre-goers who want to know more about the vast array of theatrical productions available to them. Every theatre company has its own devoted page, with links to websites, contact info, and maps, as well as a history of the theatre and some representative production photos. And every production mounted by these theatres will be featured in the Coming Soon and Now Playing modules, as well be featured on its own designated page, complete with dates, times, tickets, box office info, and show description.
Along with a new name and a new website, PTC has unveiled a new logo. Working with designer and Kevin Kline Award nominee Travis Estes, PTC developed this new logo based on local sculptor Jesse Vonk's now iconic trophy design. The K-shaped curtain--such an intrinsic part of PTC's history and the Kevin Kline Awards ceremonies--is paired with a timeless, glamourous font to evoke the sense of excellence, excitement, and quite frankly fun that PTC hopes to impart to theatre-goers across the area. Wherever a patron sees the new Kevin Kline Awards logo, a good night of theatre awaits.
Keep checking back at KevinKlineAwards.org, not only to keep track of the myriad shows running right here in St. Louis, but also to participate in PTC's plans to expand our programming and services, always with an eye on getting the word out to theatre-goers-to-be.
