HotCity Theatre, a professional theatre company with a focus on contemporary programming and new play development announces the call for submission of new plays for its 7th Annual Greenhouse New Play Festival to take place in June of 2013.
Approximately 20 plays are selected as semi-finalists at which time full scripts will be requested. To be selected, playwrights must be able to attend the entire festival and workshop week, which begins on the Sunday prior to the festival weekend. HotCity Theatre offers playwrights travel and lodging for the Festival. Three plays will be selected for final public reading during festival week and will receive workshop with director, dramaturg and professional actors. The final public readings will be followed by audience response sessions. HotCity artistic staff will then select one script for a fully produced world premiere as part of the company’s 2014 mainstage season.
